Indian Health Service (IHS)

Mission: To develop, document, and sustain a health effort to prevent and control diabetes in American Indian and Alaska Native communities.

IHS makes many diabetes resources available, including the Diabetes Curriculum Packet, nutrition education materials, general diabetes information, professional resources, training programs, posters, audiovisual materials, and other patient education materials. Educational materials are directed toward American Indian and Alaska Native populations, and some materials are available at a lower reading level. Materials can be obtained upon request from the IHS National Diabetes Office.
